Our recommended routes for 2023 are exactly the same as 2022.

Town Loop Running Route (~10km)

Essentially the four-mile loop around Steinbach, detouring to run along the beautifully-lit Main Street, pass the Gifts of Light display at Bethesda Hospital, and touch base at The Public.

1. From The Public, head southeast on Main St, passing KR Barkman Park.
2. Turn left (N), heading north on Hespeler St.
3. Turn left (W), on Loewen Blvd.
4. At Henry St turn left (S), passing the Gift of Lights display in front of the Bethesda Hospital.
5. Turn left (W) and follow Reimer Ave towards Main St.
6. At Main St, stop to say hi at The Public, or turn right (NW) on Main St.
7. At Brandt St, turn left (S) for one mile.
8. Turn left (E) on Mackenzie Ave for one mile.
9. At the water tower turn left (NW) on Main St.

Walking Route (~3km)

1. From The Public, head southeast on Main St, passing KR Barkman Park.
2. Turn left (NE) on Goossen Ave.
3. Turn left (NW) on Hanover St, passing the Steinbach Little Art Gallery and backyard labyrinth.
4. Turn right (NE) on Barkman Ave.
5. Turn left on Henry St.
6. At the Gifts of Light display at Bethesda Hospital, turn left (W) on Reimer Ave.
7. Turn left (SE) on Main St to return to The Public.

The Longest Night Run isn’t a race, and because of the variables presented by winter conditions and nighttime hours, we don’t restrict the route for registered participants. We realize you may need to shorten your route if someone’s getting cold, or may need to participate in your own neighbourhood in the middle of the night. That’s ok.
