As we ran through the longest night 2021, Ashleigh was experiencing her own longest night, alone in a Rhode Island hospital room. This night would weave into the story of her last few weeks, and will forever be part of this deeply meaningful season of last memories with her in our lives.

Her final blog post, in which she shared about this night, ended with these words:

“Never alone.”

This year as we run, we run together, remembering those facing their own longest nights, acknowledging the dark lonely corners of our own lives, and reaching out to those around us to support and be supported by our friends and community.
